Abstract
It is easy for everyone to obtain Combined Oral Contraceptive (COC), which can jeopardize the acceptor's health if health screening is not done first. Acceptors may choose contraceptives that are not suitable for their health. The purpose of this study was to describe the characteristics and medical eligibility of COC acceptors based on criteria 1,2,3. This research method is quantitative, descriptive research type. Choosing a sample by accidental, the total sample of 135 people. Questionnaires were prepared based on acceptor medical eligibility criteria on the Medical Eligibility Criteria application. Data analysis was carried out by making frequency distribution, centering and distribution of data and proportions. The results showed the proportion of criteria 1 (safe) 82.2%, 2 (mild risk) 8.1%, 3 (high risk) 4.4% and 4 (danger) 5.2%. COC has the highest proportion of medical contraindications compared to other contraceptives, so screening before taking COC should be more thorough. Acceptors who fall into criterion 4 must replace COC. In order for COC not to endanger the lives of acceptors, it is necessary to continuously educate the public about diseases that are contraindications to the use of COC, and the need for public awareness to conduct medical clinical examinations by officers before using COC.
